BBC Scotland Street is fitted with 20 bespoke Edit Suites, air conditioned with controlled lighting, height adjustable desks, sound dampening and designed for Production collaboration.
All suites have Avid Media Composer with Nitris DX I/O, Saphire effects and Baselight Editions, Tektronix waveform monitors, high-grade video monitoring, 55” general viewing monitors, Genelec audio monitoring, audio mixers, compressors, and microphones for VO recording.
You will have access to a Production PC with Media Composer and Media Central UX for viewing and logging.
You will be supported by our friendly team of Specialists, Production Operators and Edit Assistants throughout your booking. Our resident Runner will be on hand to ensure your requests are delivered.
Finishing Suites
In addition to the standard edit suite setup, 13 of our suites are higher spec for online/ finishing; with Baselight editions, Avid Media Composer Symphony and high grade Sony OLED video monitors. Six of our finishing suites have multi-channel audio monitoring and additional I/O for studio/ live production.
Grading
BBC Scotland Street offers Baselight grading facilities which support the creation and delivery of the highest quality images. Our Colourist will work with you to perfect your pictures in a comfortable environment with high-grade OLED video monitoring.
The Baselight for Avid workflow allows us to move seamlessly between grade and edit, minimising and even eliminating the need to go back to the colour suite with last minute changes

We have a core team of talented, award winning finishing editors who have a wealth of experience across a variety of genres including drama, comedy, factual, specialist factual, children’s, events, Gaelic, news and sport, and who have expertise in delivering quality content in these areas.
